Description

## System details

OS: Windows_NT x64 10.0.22631
Visual Studio Code extension host: 1.92.0
AWS Toolkit: 3.18.0
node: 20.14.0
electron: 30.1.2

## Question

I have installed AWS CLI and can communicate with the S3 bucket seamlessly. I have received a access key and secret token from our admin which I have stored in credentials file. Additionally I have a config file. Both are saved in ~/user/.aws/ folder. I think I have gotten these things correct, since the CLI works. I can also use the terminal in VS Code to access S3. But I have not been able to connect and display the S3 with the AWS Toolkit explorer. I keep getting an authentication error

I have tried to find endlessly on the internet without success. Any tips are appreciated.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the AWS CLI credentials file and config file mentioned in the report, then compare their behavior with authentication in the AWS Toolkit S3 explorer. Use the listed Windows, VS Code, AWS Toolkit, Node, and Electron versions to reproduce the authentication error. Done means the Toolkit authenticates successfully and displays the S3 bucket; the issue has no maintainer response in the available thread.
