Description

I'm trying to connect to DynamoDB local.
I downloaded the latest version and run it on port 8000. I can access with my .net application.
Installed latest version of the aws tookit for VS 2017 (v1.16.1.0).
When trying to connect to local ddb, I get an error 'The selected version of the DynamoDB local is not installed'. I have not selected any version from the list as I have 'Start new DynamoDB local process' unchecked. Seems related to issue #50 here.
I checked 'Start new process' and selected the last version in the list (2016-01-07) and click 'Install'. A progress bar appears, run to the end, and nothing else happens.
Selected version still appears as 'not installed' in the list, and can't connect.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the DynamoDB local connection and installation flow in AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio 2017, using the reported port 8000 setup and comparing with issue #50. No source file or test is identified in the report; done means the selected local version is recognized after installation and the toolkit can connect without the reported error.
