Ability to invoke a lambda function via version number or alias vai the VS toolkit would be nice

Currently when you invoke a lambda from teh VS toolkit you have to invoke the $Latest version. This is good but as lambda's move through the SDLC and start sitting in dev, qa, UAT and prod environments it can be nice to call a different version/alias (assuming you are using versions or aliases to move code through your environments) from inside VS.

No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by locating the VS Toolkit's Lambda invocation flow and determine how it currently selects $Latest; done means an invocation can target a specified Lambda version or alias from Visual Studio.
