Research direction

Start with the AWS CloudFormation Mappings request and compare the listed Aurora MySQL version names containing underscores with current behavior. The issue names no repository file, test, or entry point, so first locate where mapping-name validation or coverage is tracked; done means documenting or implementing the accepted underscore behavior and verifying it against these examples.
