On November 8, [OpenSearch added support for VPC Endpoints](https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2022/11/amazon-opensearch-cross-vpc-connectivity-aws-privatelink/). As per [the documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/opensearch-service/latest/developerguide/vpc-interface-endpoints.html#vpc-endpoint-considerations), "You currently can't use AWS CloudFormation to create interface VPC endpoints."
