When adding a model name and removing the model name entirely adds character back in.

### Expected behavior

correctly remove the model name

### Reproduction steps

1. click add model
2. add a name
3. realize you made mistake
4. remove the name entirely
see that there is an character automatically added

Start by reproducing the issue in the Data modelling interface: add a model, enter a name, remove it completely, and observe the automatically added character in Chrome. Trace the model-name input behavior from that flow; done means clearing the name leaves the field empty and does not add any character.
