### Which Specific Feature is your question related to?

Model field drag-drop reordering

### Question

Hello,

Your visual data modeling tool is really awesome - although I'm curious to understand what's going on when I try to reorder fields.

Like most developers I suppose, I'm really particular about having my fields organized in a logical order, so it's great that I can drag and drop them. But if I drag a field from the end of the list up higher, instead of pushing all the fields from the one I drop it on down like I'd expect, it swaps places with that field, sending the field I dropped it on to the bottom. This forces me to tediously do the same with each field from the new one I placed down to the bottom to get it all in the right order again.

I hope that made sense... it's not a great user experience, but it seems intentional, so just want to understand if I should think differently. I recognize this may fall under the category of nice-to-have while you're working on much more important aspects... but after going through this again, I thought I'd just ask-

Thanks,
Ben

Research direction

Start by reproducing field drag-and-drop reordering in the visual data modeling tool and trace the existing behavior from there. Done means moving a field from the end to an earlier position inserts it there and shifts the intervening fields down instead of swapping and moving the displaced field to the bottom.
