> **Amplify Gen 1 is in maintenance mode.** This repository (part of Amplify Studio / the Amplify UI component generator, which builds on Gen 1) follows the same timeline.

Starting **May 1, 2026**, Gen 1 backends will receive **only critical bug fixes and security patches**, and Gen 1 will reach **end of life on May 1, 2027**.

- Existing apps continue to function — there is no forced shutdown.
- We recommend migrating to **Amplify Gen 2** to keep receiving new features and support.
