Linking Cognito with Pinpoint

Reading https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cognito/latest/developerguide/cognito-user-pools-pinpoint-integration.html, it seems Cognito can be linked with Pinpoint such that Cognito would automatically stream data to Pinpoint when user signs up or logs in.

Does Amplify CLI support setting this up? I'm guessing no, but maybe manually modifying cloudformation files will make it work. The last time a user asked about this is at https://github.com/aws-amplify/amplify-cli/issues/5204
