Description

with the consistency of power related issues and our plans to scale, it won't stay viable forever to manually manage power across all rigs. Inevitably we will need to automate that process. I'm not 100% sure what the optimal solution looks like, but I'm imagining some kind of state machine that takes data from each devices voltage as well as future measurable data such as current sensing and solar radiation from the photometer, to give an assessment on the health of the power system and implement actions based on its assessments in order to safeguard the batteries from abuse and ensure maximum longevity.

it should use the photometer to assess the weather conditions against the charging profile to determine the efficiency of the solar panels as well.

it may be useful for the APM to generate some kind of report that breaks down how much power has been consumed by each powered device, health status of battery and solar panels, and charging phase breakdown from the battery.
