Description
I am recording with the INMP441. I have installed the microphone in a telephone receiver. The sample rate is 44100. When I keep a distance of several centimeters, the recording quality is good. However, when I am too close to the receiver, the microphone clips. Does anyone have a solution for this? I have experimented with AGC (Automatic Gain Control), but haven't managed to get any decent code.
Thanks!

Research direction
No file or test is named. Start by reproducing the INMP441 recording at 44.1 kHz with the microphone close to the telephone receiver, then inspect the repository's ESP32 I2S audio-sample path. Done means establishing a documented, repeatable way to prevent or reduce clipping in that setup.
