Description
Currently if the input to HiPS is not PNG or JPEG, the output is FITS. We should probably support making PNGs/JPEGs from FITS.
The easiest might be to actually have a utility that takes one or more HiPS directories and makes a new HiPS with multi-color PNG or JPEG tiles.
