Add remote tests for gaia module

Currently there are only local tests. It would be great to have a few to help to spot upstream changes.

Locate the Gaia module and read its existing local tests first, then identify how the module accesses the remote service. Run the current local test suite before adding a small set of remote checks that can detect upstream changes; done means those remote tests exercise the relevant Gaia queries and pass against the service.
