Write generalized functions for setting/unsetting adopted column

The adopted column often needs to be set during data ingestion. We also want to be able run scripts to systematically change the adopted.

Could start with a script just to help with ingestion. Check if there are multiple entries and use some kind of criterion to decide which one to set.
