1password biometric authentication randomly unresponsive

Hi,

From time to time, the biometric authentification of 1Password fails to activate the fingerprint reader. The window with the biometric prompt has focus and I can click on the cancel button, but the finger is not read.

This is bug I have for months now. I struggle with 1Password support to try to find its origin, and finally finds out it only happens with yabai activated.

This is an issue which appears randomly but it looks like with the following pattern I can reproduce it regularly:

• open 1Password
• open a terminal
• launch a command that triggers 1password biometric
• authenticate
• minimize 1password
• switch desktop
• open a new terminal
• launch a command that triggers biometric. It should fail

I have played with rules to disable 1Password management but I didn't find any rule that could prevent that issue.

Now I have to disable yabai before launching long processes that requires multiple 1Password authentication during their execution to prevent my scripts failing because I can't auth in 1Password.

This is a heartbreaker because I love yabai and I use it since I switched to a Mac (it was the chunkwm in those days).

I would like to know if some other people can confirm the issue.

And it would be great if someone has a workaround to circumvent that issue.

No files or tests are named. First reproduce the reported sequence on macOS with yabai and 1Password, then compare the biometric prompt behavior with yabai disabled. Done would require identifying a reliable fix or workaround that keeps repeated 1Password biometric authentication responsive across desktop switches.
