chaning keyboard layout resets focus to main display

Dear devs

when I change the keyboard layout, I lose focus on the 2nd display and return to focus on the first display window. this is very annoying, is there anything I am doing wrong?

my system shortcut is "alt/option + space" to change to next keyboard layout
the same binding is not in my skhdrc

how can I fix this
