Modifiers + TouchBar F-keys not working

Description
When running skhd, application shortcuts using the F-row stop working with the Mac TouchBar. The problem does not occur on external keyboards.
It seems like only the F-key is registered, but not the combination of Modifier keys like Shift or Option + F-key.
Please let me now if there are any relevant logs I can provide.
