Description

Problem

The email endpoint test can call the real DeepSeek service, making tests slow, expensive, and nondeterministic.

Acceptance criteria

  • Mock the AI client or assessment boundary in tests.
  • Return a deterministic valid risk assessment.
  • Keep at least one small integration path available if appropriate, but do not require network access for the normal test suite.

Research direction

Locate the email endpoint test and trace the AI client or assessment boundary it exercises. Run the relevant test to reproduce the network-dependent behavior, then verify that the normal suite uses a deterministic valid assessment without network access while any retained integration path is explicitly separate.
