Description
Hi,
I've been trying to follow the tutorial on Data exchange between Linux and Arduino Sketch and I have not been able to get it to work. I've spent 2 full nights trying and still can't get any data to be exchanged. I finally found this forum post and it sounds like this happened with the new firmware change.

Good thing I updated all the X8's I got for the project to the newest firmware like the docs recommended before I did anything else.
If anyone has any info on getting the communication to work on the X8 I would really appreciate it!
Thank you,
Amir

Research direction
Start by following the “Data exchange between Linux and Arduino Sketch” tutorial on a Portenta X8 with the newest firmware and compare the result with the linked forum post. Determine whether RPC communication is incompatible with that firmware and identify the firmware or tutorial steps that produce a working exchange; no source file or test is named in the issue.
