MKR-GPS not working with MRK format Portenta.

My PortentaH7 does not seem to work with the MKR-GPS

and it is probably similar to this Portenta MKR_IMU issue [MRK Format Portenta issue with MKR-GPS](https://github.com/arduino/ArduinoCore-mbed/issues/398)

Except I got the IMU issue solved by bending the reeset pin. (another possible option is to run imu.begin() and imu.end(); each loop)
but that simple solution does not seem to work for the MKR-GPS. Any suggestions.
