Description

This is just FYI. It is a random event I am unable to duplicate at will.

After many successful attempts upgrading to 1.6.8. at few of the trials i received message ( compiler verbose output on) basically saying the programming port on Due is being forced to reset.
And that is all she wrote - it froze and I had to reboot the OS to get rid of it.
I cannot duplicate it , it was just random event.

I have observed it on 1.6.5 . also. Once.

Research direction

No source file or test is named. Try reproducing the freeze while upgrading to Arduino IDE 1.6.8 with an Arduino Due, verbose compiler output enabled, and the programming COM port being reset; compare with the reported 1.6.5 occurrence. Done means identifying and fixing the freeze or documenting why it cannot be reproduced.
