com ports wont read on 2020 16" macbook

i have a 2020 16" macbook pro 32gb ramm i9 and 1TB nvme but it will not read any of the arduino's through ports tab it doesnt even recoginize when plugged in but lights come on so is getting power, having even more issues with the esp8266 and esp32 on a windows machine i7 16gb ram 500gb sdd
