Equal contribution footnote

Equal authorship footnote not showing right.

My coauthor marked the 3rd and 4th authors as equal contribution via `\thanks` and `\samethanks` (= [`\newcommand*\samethanks[1][\value{footnote}]{\footnotemark[#1]}`](https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/4171)). The foonote mark appears only for the 4th and as a dagger, not an asterisk. It is also absent from the footnote text.
