Description

I came up with this idea mainly because I noticed from https://the-asf.slack.com/archives/CBX4TSBQ8/p1776277305889619 and https://github.com/rbowen/ponymail-mcp that `apache/incubator-ponymail-foal` actually has a stable RESTful API.

I'm wondering if I want to create a Material Design-style Android app for Ponymail, should the relevant PR be committed to the current git repository, or is it better to create a new git repository after completing prototype validation? This would definitely complicate the process of setting up the development environment for the current git repository.

Research direction

Review the existing ponymail-foal repository and its stable RESTful API, along with the referenced ponymail-mcp project, before proposing an Android prototype. The immediate outcome is a maintainer decision about whether the app belongs in this repository or a new one; prototype validation would be needed before implementation scope is defined.
