Description
### Description
Chaotic and insufficient navigation through the project file structure.
### Use case/motivation
If I go back up and back in the folder tree, I would expect all previously expanded child folders to be collapsed. This small adjustment would significantly improve the navigation in the project's file structure.

Research direction
No file, test, or entry point is named. Reproduce navigating up and back through the project file structure, then trace the file-tree navigation entry point to determine where expanded child folders are retained. Done means previously expanded child folders are collapsed after moving up and re-entering the folder tree.
