AssertionError unexpected type: none in TreeMaker when using hint to create private method

Was coding a java file. File is compilable.
Typing a call to a new unknown method.
Hint appears to propose to create the method locally, OK => exception below (method is not created)

Reproduce the failure in the TilerMaxDistance example using NetBeans 26 and JDK 23, then start at org.netbeans.modules.java.hints.errors.CreateMethodFix.java around line 243, as identified by the stack trace. Trace the generated method through TreeFactory.Type and TreeMaker.Type; done means the hint creates the private method without raising AssertionError.
