[SUREFIRE-2125] Surefire site-doc is confusing

I'm currently try to evaluate if/how Tycho-Maven.Plugin maybe can enhance surefire and got this link from google:

https://maven.apache.org/surefire/surefire-extensions-api/index.html

as from the title it sounds interesting, sadly nothing is written there at what this is about.

And this is not the only item if I go to:
https://maven.apache.org/surefire/index.html

its seems most of the stuff is just empty documents with no further references or instructions.
