Description

**[Sebb](https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?name=sebb@apache.org)** opened **[MCHANGES-227](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MCHANGES-227?redirect=false)** and commented

The plugin currently makes almost all of the changes.xml content available to custom templates.

However the document properties are not currently made available as far as I can tell.

It would sometimes be useful to be able to pass in variable content from changes.xml, rather than from announceParameters in the POM.

Research direction

Start by tracing how changes.xml is exposed to custom Velocity templates and inspect any existing tests for the template context. Done means document properties from changes.xml are available to custom templates without requiring announceParameters.
