Helper menu options for Grails Controllers and Services not appearing with upgrade to Grails 5.0

When I click 'New' from the file menu in places like the Controllers and Services folder, the option for "Controller" or "Service" does not appear and intelliJ doesn't create the corresponding file correctly. This does not happen with the same IDE on the same machine for a Grails 4.0 project.
