Grails project much slower in 14 EAP than 13

Indexing a Grails project in 14 seems very slow, as does simply trying to edit a groovy file in that project. The same project opens in 13 just fine (and performs as expected). I've attached a profile snapshot. Hope it's useful.

Start by reproducing the reported indexing and Groovy-file editing slowdown in the attached Grails project, comparing IntelliJ IDEA 14 EAP with version 13. Review the attached profile snapshot for evidence of the regression. Done means identifying and resolving the cause so the project performs as expected in version 14.
