Description
### Documentation Type
Missing documentation (feature not documented)
### Documentation Location
https://code.claude.com/docs/en/overview
### Section/Topic
Terminal install – "Get started" section, native install next steps
### Current Documentation
The docs say to run:
cd your-project
claude
right after the native install command. That's the only "next step" shown.
### What's Wrong or Missing?
When ~/.local/bin isn't already on PATH, the install.sh script itself prints a warning with the fix:
echo 'export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.bashrc && source ~/.bashrc
But the Overview page's "Get started" section doesn't mention this at all, so users who don't read the terminal output carefully just get "claude: command not found" with no explanation on the page itself. Suggest adding a short note/troubleshooting link right under the `claude` command on this page, e.g. linking to /docs/en/troubleshoot-install or stating the PATH fix directly.
### Suggested Improvement
Add a short note or troubleshooting link directly under the `claude` command in the "Get started > Terminal" tab, e.g.:
If `claude` isn't found after installing, `~/.local/bin` may not be on your PATH yet. Run:
echo 'export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.bashrc && source ~/.bashrc
See troubleshoot-install for more.
(Adjust for zsh/other shells as appropriate.) This mirrors the warning the install.sh script itself already prints, so it should just need surfacing on this page too.
### Impact
High - Prevents users from using a feature

Research direction
Open the Overview page at https://code.claude.com/docs/en/overview and inspect the Get started > Terminal tab alongside the PATH warning printed by install.sh. Add a concise note or troubleshooting link beneath the claude command, then verify that the page explains what to do when ~/.local/bin is not on PATH and points to troubleshoot-install.
