Description

  • I have verified this feature I'm about to request hasn't been suggested before.

Describe the enhancement you want to request

OpenCode V2 automatically adds Anthropic thinking block-binding controls for Claude 5.1+ requests. Some Anthropic-compatible endpoints reject this field entirely with thinking.adaptive.block_binding: Extra inputs are not permitted.

V2 already has a runtime supportsThinkingBlockBinding compatibility override, but the V2 user configuration schema does not expose it. Please expose a per-model compatibility.supportsThinkingBlockBinding setting so users can set it to false when their deployment rejects block_binding.

When set to false, the request should omit thinking.block_binding and should not add thinking-binding-controls-2026-08-01 to anthropic-beta. When absent, the current automatic model-ID-based behavior should remain unchanged.

This is the V2 counterpart to #46820 and is related to #46729.
