Description
Support for TunerHal
TunerHal is a feature that was introduced in ATV-11 that provides an optimized hardware path for playing live and local clear/scrambled/encrypted content with minimal memory consumption and CPU loading. It also offers the advantage that encrypted/scrambled compressed audio can be decrypted securely and passed directly to the AudioHal for a sink device like a TV or amplifier to decode (no Google "raw" insecure decoder required).
We (and many other companies in the TV industry) would welcome this addition to help provide a more efficient version of ExoPlayer that can support features like MediaCas without much overhead in terms of CPU and memory loading.
