Dear Media3 team,
I am writing to suggest a valuable enhancement to the Media3 demo project. As a senior computer engineer, I believe adding sharing functionality directly within the demo app would significantly improve its utility, especially on Android TV devices.
Specifically, I propose integrating the ability to share media playing in the Media3 demo to other apps, such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Gmail. My use case is primarily focused on Android TV (Google TV 4K Chromecast), where sharing content can sometimes be less streamlined than on mobile. Having this functionality built into the demo would provide a clear example of how developers can implement media sharing within their own Android TV applications using Media3.
This enhancement should encompass sharing of all supported media types, including not only standard video and audio files but also IPTV streams (m3u8) and radio streams. This is crucial as Media3 is designed to handle a diverse range of media sources, and the demo should reflect this capability. Demonstrating how to share these various stream types would be incredibly valuable for developers.
This enhancement would be greatly beneficial for developers looking to integrate media sharing into their projects, as it would provide a practical and readily available reference implementation covering a wide range of media formats, particularly relevant to Android TV development. The inclusion of examples for sharing via popular apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Gmail would make the demo even more useful.
