Adding new item on same page doubles number

when on the menu page when you add a pizza the counter goes to 1 then why you add another pizza the new counter on the new pizza goes to 2 and the original pizza counter goes back to 0

for example click the plus on a cheese pizza goes to 1
then click on a plus counter for a veggie goes to 2 and the cheese pizza counter goes to 0
