## Spark
Finished Tress of the Emerald Sea, recorded in the Notion Media Log
during the 2026-08-22 digest check-in. Finished alongside Yumi and the
Nightmare Painter — the other secret-project Cosmere novel.
## Why it could be interesting
Unknown until the take lands. The available angle is that it was read in
the same stretch as Yumi, so the comparison is live: two books written to
the same brief, and whichever one works better says something about what
the brief was actually for.
## Open questions
- [ ] Recommend it or not, and to whom?
- [ ] What is the one claim the review argues, with the evidence?
- [ ] Does the Yumi comparison belong in this review, or does each stand
on its own? (Both get their own issue regardless.)
- [ ] Prior Sanderson reviews (#464 The Sunlit Man, #463 The Frugal
Wizard's Handbook) are still open — is there a running thread, or
does that risk making these one post?
