Description

Hi,
-
I want to get the signed app in ipa format, I tried copy it from the iphone, repack into zip with postfix of ipa, then use ideviceinstaller to install to the same iphone, but failed
-
But another tool named i4 in china, I do the same steps, copied the xxx.app, and repacked to ipa, i can install it using ideviceinstaller.
-
Is the free account signed app must be written to the device by altserver, only through the mounted image? Can we just sign the app, and then use another tool to write to the device?

Research direction

Start by reproducing the installation flow described: copy the signed .app from an iPhone, repackage it as an IPA, and run ideviceinstaller against the same device. Compare that result with the equivalent i4 flow and review whether AltStore or AltServer imposes requirements on free-account signed apps; done means the supported installation behavior and cause of the failure are documented.
