Description

🐞 Bug: AltStore.ipa fails to install — “DeveloperDiskImage.dmg could not be determined”

Summary:
Attempting to sideload AltStore.ipa using AltServer-Linux on Raspberry Pi failed with the following error during install:

Failed to install DeveloperDiskImage.dmg to Name: [DeviceName]
The URL to download the Developer disk image could not be determined.
...
Alert: Could not install AltStore.ipa to unknown.
The app could not be found.

This issue only occurred with the latest version of AltStore.ipa. Downgrading to an earlier .ipa version (2.2) resolved the issue.

🧪 Steps to Reproduce (Unfortunately very specific):
  1. Use AltServer-Linux on a Raspberry Pi (aarch64 build) - Tutorial: https://gist.github.com/jschiefner/95a22d7f4803e7ad32a95b0f3aa655dc
  2. iPhone is connected via USB, properly trusted, and verified
  3. Attempt to install the latest AltStore.ipa (2.2.1)

🛠 Workaround That Works:

Downgrading to an older version of AltStore.ipa (i tested 1.6.1 and 2.2) allowed the install to complete successfully.

Research direction

No source file or test is named. Start by reproducing the install with AltStore.ipa 2.2.1 on the Raspberry Pi aarch64 setup, comparing it with version 2.2 and iOS 18.5. Done means the latest IPA installs successfully without the DeveloperDiskImage.dmg error while the documented older-version comparison remains understood.
