Description

after updating to the latest version of altstore a couple weeks ago, i have been having the following issues:

  1. sideloaded apps randomly cannot be opened anymore despite still having days left (crash to home page) sometimes altstore itself will have the same behaviour

  2. refreshing altstore will prompt a popup that altstore had to create a new signing certificate. however it works fine by clicking refresh later instead.

  3. refreshing apps takes extremely long compared to pre-update. would take maybe 10-15 seconds on average, now takes multiple minutes, if successful.

i use altstore on two devices, and other than having to manually refresh them sometimes there hasnt been any issues till updating. any fix?

Research direction

Start by reproducing the post-update behavior in AltStore's app-opening, signing-certificate, and refresh flows on the affected devices. The report names no files or tests, so first identify which flow produces each symptom and compare it with the pre-update behavior. Done means the reported crashes, certificate prompt, and slow refresh are either fixed or isolated with reproducible evidence.
