Description

As we know, as long as AltStore is on the same WiFi network as a computer running AltServer — or is plugged-in directly to the computer via USB — AltStore can sideload, refresh, activate, and deactivate apps.
Assuming we already have a server running the altserver,we just need to make our devices stay in the same network with the sever, or connect our devices to the server via usb. It's hard to achive the second method, so I tried to use VPN to join the local area network running altsever, such as openvpn and tailscale, but I failed.
I found that if itunes on the server can recognize my device, then I can successfully refresh apps. So the only problem is how to make itunes recognize my device in the wide area network. Do you guys have any solutions to this problem?

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by determining how AltStore, AltServer, and iTunes handle device recognition across a VPN or wide area network; done would be a confirmed solution or a clearly scoped implementation path.
