- Remove package-lock.json
- Switch to a newer version of node 18 locally that includes npm 10 (or just use node 20)
- Update package.json to specify npm 10 (and node 20 if necessary)
- Run npm install
- Commit the updated lockfile
- Test to make sure nothing broke
