Description

Hi, I am trying to reconstruct the call graphs and have a question. Thank you in advance! Any help is sincerely appreciated!

If we have the two rows in the MSCallGraph dataset, 1.3.1 , and 1.3.2 and the dm1 and dm2 both have the same name, does it mean different instances of one microservice or the same instance? Without the instanceid, we can’t really tell. This question is very important particularly when we analyze the structure of call graphs. For example, for the drawing below, there are completely two different ways to reconstruct the call graph.

Research direction

Start with the MSCallGraph dataset rows 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 , then review the available dataset context about instanceid and call-graph reconstruction. Done means the dataset documentation clearly states whether same-named DMs represent separate service instances or the same instance.
