Description
After a quick chat with @IoannisFlo on Discord he encouraged me to post my request / ideas here:
TL;DR:
- an improved UX for projects & contributors would help bounty solvers when they are searching for new work
- stats such as average bounty open time, PR attempts per bounty, time from merge to reward, etc.
- e.g. these stats could supplement the existing stats on a company's home page https://algora.io/golemcloud/home
- I suppose this could also trickle down to the https://github.com/algora-io/sdk? Although the use cases for the sdk seem more client focussed than solver focussed at the minute?
verbatim discord message:
I'm looking to resume my OSS bounty work and I'm looking for another company or two to start solving bounties for. Given the upfront (unpaid) cost of getting to know the codebase and how you become more productive in a codebase over time, I'd prefer to work for one or two companies for the near future and then look for other companies over time. Especially given I have another full time job and Algora is mostly to learn from other projects, have some fun on the side, and make a bit of extra cash - so I don't need to be solving bounties for 10 companies in parallel to make a full time salary etc.
When I am deciding which company to solve the first bounty for, it would be awesome if there was a way to see some stats about them like average time an bounty is open before it is rewarded, if they ever close bounties without them being rewarded, how many PR attempts do the bounties have each on average, if they have auto pay on merge enabled, how long from PR merge to reward payment, etc.
This would help me make my decision of which project(s) to commit to.
Is there any plan for anything like this? Should I make a GitHub issue to request this feature formally etc.?
e.g. when looking at https://algora.io/CapSoftware/home I see some bounties have been open for months with some attempts etc.
