Range Calendar with Filter

I need a range calendar that allows me to block off certain dates (think AirBnB where some dates might not be available). Simply adding a filter function to the Range Calendar does not seem to work, however. For example, if I block off January 10, the user can still select January 8-11. They just cannot use January 10 as the start or end date. Am I just implementing the filter function incorrectly, or is the functionality I'm looking for not available with this component?
