### Issue description

Upon initial load of the site I see the black background + spinner for 4-5 seconds. Subsequent loads are usually 1-2 seconds each, suggesting some sort of cache'ing logic is in place. I'm wondering what could be done to speed up the cold start load time.

Page loads quickly.
