fork and symlink( or npm link) failing

@nnixaa Hey man, I was trying to fork and clone ng2-smart-table to my local machine and then symlink it so I can use it as one of node_modues while doing some work on it

When I would try 'gulp' I would get this error:

**TypeError: Cannot read property 'externals' of undefined**

Any ideas how could I solve this?

Symlink is working as it should so it is available for building but something is just not working
