Need to maintain Rows that have been selected (using multi) when uses switches pages

Can someone please explain to me how to get selections to stay after a user has moved pages (started on page 1, went to page 2, returned to page 1)?

I've really tried to work out a way myself, but I can't find anyway to get access to "isSelected" variable inside the row objects the user changes pages.

Please help? I just want my selections to not simply disappear anytime the user does basically ANYTHING with the table....I'm not sure why it was even designed this way.
