Description

Request preparation
  • I used an AI assistant to help structure this request
  • I checked for existing issues covering the same feature
What would you like?

Typically DX cluster and Band Map are Log feature.
I always use 2 panadapters and 2 LogHX3 opened with Band map open for each log.
I can see all band or zoom in/out/scroll and click on any call in the band map to "jump" on that frequency.
Unfortunately my specific scenario prevent me to use DX Cluster or Band Map as it make ASDR waterfall moving with jitter.
Also ASDR SpotHub is not useful for above purposes as it keep moving fast, there is no way to stop it or shrink it to fit the screen without blocking other windows.

Here is an idea, add DX Map for each panadapter with configurable option

  1. Do not use it.
  2. Open one Band map for one panadapter in use.
  3. Open as many Band maps as user wants for every panadapter in use.
  4. Make this window configurable for background color, fonts size and fonts color.

Here is an example from LogHX3 band map with minimum resized window. It take minimum space and very useful.

N1MM also have similar Bandmap.
Spots on ASDR (below) do not cover whole band and in minimized size I can see only 1-2 callsigns with +5, +10 or any other numbers that hard to fit to ASDR pan window.

Research direction

Start by examining the existing DX Cluster, Band Map, and ASDR SpotHub interfaces, then trace how panadapters and frequency jumping are represented. Compare the requested one-per-panadapter behavior and display customization with the current UI. Done means the scope and design for configurable Band Map windows are agreed, including whether the listed usage modes can be supported.
