Noting that these tests pass against OpenJ9, indicating this may be a Hotspot issue that was introduced sometime in October (as they were previously passing against Hotspot builds in September).

Start with external/jenkins FunctionsTest.printThrowable and assertPrintThrowable at line 531, then run the failing test on HotSpot JDK 8 and JDK 11. Compare the output with the passing OpenJ9 result and review the linked Jenkins and TRSS reports. Done means the test passes on the affected HotSpot builds without regressing the OpenJ9 result.
