Description

Expected Behaviour
Clicking on an image should show a dark blue outline, and the opacity of the image should be lowered slightly. This indicates to the author that the image is selected.

Image

Actual Behaviour
Clicking on an image will show a light blue outline. This is resemblant to when clicking on an image that is already hyperlinked (as it will show this light blue outline).

It appears that the “Alt text” menu in the left toolbar is highlighted automatically when selecting an image (even when no Alt Text is present), so potentially this is related.

Research direction

Start by reproducing image selection in the Edge Delivery Authoring UI and inspect the selection behavior alongside the left-toolbar Alt text state. Done means selecting an image shows a dark blue outline with slightly reduced opacity, rather than the light blue linked-image styling, without incorrectly highlighting Alt text.
